Neurotherapy in Perth

Biofeedback is one technique used to help patients focus on involuntary responses such as breathing, sweating and muscle tension in order to gain greater control. Falling under the umbrella of biofeedback, neurofeedback is a non-invasive and painless way to exercise or train specific areas of your brain. Most commonly used to assist with conditions including concussion, PTSD and ADHD, neurofeedback has also been used to help improve general brain activity including memory, dexterity and cognition.

To measure progress, we use a special type of brain wave detecting device called QEEG which allows us to pin point areas that may not be functioning as they should be. After this analysis, our professional team will then structure a neurotherapy program that will cater for your needs.

What is Neurotherapy?

Neurotherapy, also known as biofeedback or neurofeedback, is a type of brain training which involves being aware of brainwaves and movement in order to alter an aspect of the nervous system. It usually involves the health care professional observing changes in brainwaves through a non-invasive measuring tool known as a QEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalography).

Your brain’s neuroplasticity, or ability to modify itself, will also play a part in this process. This ‘flexibility’ plays an incredibly important role in our brain development (or decline) and in shaping our distinct personalities. Your brain’s willingness to change ultimately determines what kind of neurotherapy techniques our health care professionals will decide to use. At Synaptic Health, we’ll work with you to find the right neurotherapy for you.

What is Neurorehabilitation?

In some circumstances, neurorehabilitation may be required in addition to neurofeedback which may include physical manipulation, physical exercises, sensory stimulation, cognitive exercises and more. Each of these carefully selected activities are designed to stimulate specific pathways in the brain in order to improve neuroplasticity.

If you’re suffering from conditions or symptoms caused by an alteration in brain activity including (but not limited to) anxiety and panic disorders, depression, attention/learning difficulties, autism, behavioural dysfunction, balance problems, chronic fatigue syndrome, developmental delay/dyspraxia, dysautonomia, fatigue/lethargy, functional disconnection syndrome, fibromyalgia, headaches/migraines, insomnia and sleeping problems, memory problems, brain injury or stroke, post-concussion syndrome, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or tinnitus, please contact us today to book an appointment with our friendly staff - neurorehabilitation or neurotherapy in Perth may help your circumstances.
