Dr Shanti Krishnamoorthy

Integrative Medicine Doctor (MBBS, FRCS ORL, Dip Anat, ABAARM, AFMCP)

Dr Shanti Krishnamoorthy is an Integrative Medicine Doctor who graduated from Melbourne University in 1985 and spent 4 years working in General Practice, Paediatric Neurology/A&E and Geriatrics/Geriatric Rehab in Melbourne before training in ENT in Malaysia and the UK, obtaining a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, a Diploma of Anatomy from the then Anatomical Society ANZ and a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM). Dr Shanti is on the Specialist Register for ENT/Head & Neck Surgery in Malaysia.

Shanti spent 10 years in clinical and academic ENT at University Hospital (UM) Kuala Lumpur, running the conjoint Vertigo service with Malaysia’s foremost neurologist Prof CT Tan, whilst developing a subspecialty focus on allergies and endoscopic sinus surgery. This has led to an interest in food intolerances, gut health, reflux & irritable bowel syndrome; integrative nutritional approaches to mental health and sleep; brain fog, fibromyalgia & chronic fatigue; chronic illness, environmental toxins and biotoxins; TMJ dysfunction, general pain and sinus pain and chronic infections, whilst working as an ENT Consultant at a private hospital in Malaysia. Shanti is a member of IFM, ACNEM, Bio-Balance Australia, Mindd Australia, Pandas Physician Network and the Australian Association of Musculoskeletal Medicine.
She is a Diplomate of the A4M and has been mentored in Integrative Medicine by Dr Dietrich Klinghardt and Dr Thomas Rau, and maintains close ties with Klinghardt Institute UK and Biomed International, Switzerland.

Shanti was founder member of the Monash Medical School Malaysia campus in 2006, and spent 10 years teaching Anatomy at the Malaysia and Clayton campuses on a sessional basis, as well as working and teaching in primary care. She moved back to Australia in February 2020 where she provides General Practice consults along with MSK pain and trigger point injections. Shanti is a TGA registered Medicinal Cannabis prescriber and is available for telehealth and in-person consults.

Shanti works within a network of Hospital Specialists, GPs and Allied Health practitioners to help patients work on their health through individualised and evidence-based medical advice. Her main areas of interest are treating pain and fatigue while optimising overall physical and mental wellbeing. This is done in collaboration with colleagues, through information gathering clinically and through lab tests where indicated. Any integrative and pain medicine advice offered by Shanti does not supersede treatment offered by patients own GP and specialists.
